Coach and Minibus Hire in the United Kingdom

Aberdeen Airport coach transfers at Dyce

Aberdeen International publishes coach tariffs, charged by length of stay, but no coach pick-up point and no staging area. A group landing at Dyce needs the meeting point agreed with the operator beforehand.

Agree the meeting point

With no published coach bay, the operator decides where the coach loads. Ask for that in writing with the quote, and pass it to everyone travelling. Send flight numbers so the coach is not charged for a long, idle stay.

Many groups fly in for one event and fly out a day or two later. If so, put the return run in the same request. The operator then plans both flight times together, and the same meeting point works in reverse.

Cars, taxis and the city bus

Cars and taxis use the Express Drop-off, up on the forecourt by the doors; the exit barrier takes cards, and staying past 15 minutes costs more. Long Stay offers free time for a pick-up, and Blue Badge holders get free time in Short Stay.

Scheduled buses stop right outside the terminal; the city-centre bus takes about 30 minutes in normal traffic.

Where the driver meets you

  • The airport publishes coach tariffs, charged by length of stay, but no specific coach pick-up point.

Where coaches wait

  • The airport does not publish a coach staging area.

Drive to the city centre

  • about 6 miles by road to the Castlegate, about 15-20 min in light traffic; longer at peak times

P&J Live and Dyce hotels

P&J Live, the arena and conference venue at Bucksburn, is close to the airport. Hotels at Dyce and Bucksburn suit conference groups who never need the city centre. A coach shuttle between hotel and venue can be quoted as one job.

The Low Emission Zone on Union Street

The Castlegate is about 6 miles by road, around 15 to 20 minutes in light traffic. Aberdeen's LEZ has been enforced since June 2024 and runs along Union Street, covering buses, coaches and minibuses. Cameras enforce it at all hours. Coaches need Euro VI, so for a Union Street hotel, ask for a compliant vehicle.

Deeside, the islands and the long road west

Royal Deeside tours have to fit Balmoral's season: the grounds open daily from April until the end of July, about 50 miles out. Groups heading on to Orkney or Shetland sail overnight from Jamieson's Quay, in the harbour in town. Inverness is about 105 miles, some 2.25 hours on the road.

Questions

Where does the coach pick us up at Aberdeen Airport?

Nowhere official: Aberdeen does not publish one, so the operator confirms the meeting point before the trip.

Is P&J Live near the airport?

Yes. It is at Bucksburn, close to the airport.

Does the city Low Emission Zone apply to coaches?

Yes. Coaches need Euro VI; a diesel minibus generally needs Euro 6 and a petrol one Euro 4.
